Incorporated
in the state of Delaware, the new company will build on the successful business
model developed in Canada with the sole purpose of providing development,
regulatory, marketing and sales functions for unique, high value crop
protection and nutrient products for growers in the U.S.

Engage Agro
Canada was formed in 1995 and has grown to over 35 people.

“We hope and
expect to be able to replicate our business strategy in the USA, and to create
efficiencies for our supplier partners to the benefit of growers across both
countries,” says Engage Agro president and owner Ray Chyc.

Heading up
the new company is president Trevor Thorley, former chief operating officer
with AMVAC Chemical. Engage Agro USA will begin with a list of products
currently available from Canada.

“I am
extremely excited about the formation of this new business in the U.S. and in
having Trevor at the helm. He has tremendous market and customer knowledge and
has led many successful businesses over the term of his 30-year career,” says
Chyc.

A native of
England, Thorley found his calling growing up on his family’s vegetable farm,
which led to his degree in crop science at Newcastle University. Over the
course of his career, he has held positions in sales and marketing in his 20
years with Bayer Corporation to include senior vice-president of sales and
marketing. In addition, he was president and chief operating officer for Valent
USA and executive officer for parent company Sumitomo Chemical.

“I am very
pleased to embark on this new venture and am excited about the possibilities,”
said Thorley. “Our vision is to introduce innovation and differentiation of
products that meet unique customer needs. We won’t be simply another chemical
company. Customer needs will be our primary concern and motivation.”
