For greenhouse operators in British Columbia and Alberta, deadlines to apply for greenhouse carbon rebates in both provinces are fast approaching.
Alberta
To take advantage of the Alberta Greenhouse Rebate Program this round, eligible operators need to apply by February 15, 2018. The next round of submissions will start July 1.
Approved operators can receive grants equal to 80% of the carbon levy paid on natural gas and propane for greenhouse heating. Eligible applicants must operate a commercial greenhouse in Alberta with over $20,000 in crop sales over a 12-month period. Vertical farming operations are also eligible.

British Columbia
In British Columbia, submissions for the Greenhouse Carbon Tax Relief Grant are due by March 30, 2018.
The grant covers 80% of the carbon tax paid on natural gas and propane used for greenhouse heating and CO2 production. Sales must have exceeded $20,000 in 2017 to be eligible.
