The Alberta Greenhouse Growers Association (AGGA) will be hosting their Meet & Greet event this Thursday, September 13th.
According to AGGA Board Member Michiel Verheul of High Q Greenhouses, the event is a great opportunity for growers, industry members and the Board of Directors to meet in person. The rest of the meetings are usually via teleconference.
“This year it’s in the Edmonton area,” says Verheul. “We start at Thiels Greenhouses in Bruderheim at 10:30 AM on September 13, 2018 and make our way via Edmonton to Sturgeon County.” Tour participants will also visit a grower with a large CSA program, a year-round retail garden centre, a vegetable greenhouse with floating rafts, a U-pick cutflower operation, a young plant producer and a seasonal retail centre.
The tour will be followed by dinner in St Albert.
For those needing accommodations, the AGGA has organized a block of rooms at the Best Western Inn at 460 St Albert Trail, St. Albert, AB T8N 5J9
Call the Best Western location at (780) 470-3800 to make a reservation under Alberta Greenhouse Growers Association or Michiel Verheul
“Does this sound great? The best is – attendance is free,” adds Verheul.
The tours are free of charge but interested parties will need to pre-register. RSVP to member_services@agga.ca or call Valerie at: 780-489-1991 ext 103.
