Mandatory isolation support for temporary foreign workers to decline after June 15

April 28, 2021  By Greenhouse Canada

The Mandatory Isolation Support for Temporary Foreign Workers Program (MISTFWP) has been extended until Aug. 31, but the amount of support provided for each worker will decline after June 15.

As mentioned in the recently released federal budget, up to $1,500 per temporary foreign worker will be provided to employers until June 15, 2021 to help offset costs associated with the mandatory 14-day isolation period. After June 15, 2021, employers will receive $750 per worker until the program ends on August 31, 2021.

Additional support of up $2,000 per worker will also be available. This is for employers with workers quarantining at a government-approved facility where they are not able to travel by private means directly to their place of quarantine.
