Biobest’s new crop-scanner digitizes IPM decision-making

Sept. 18, 2023 – The new Crop-Scanner from BioBest is designed to aid growers in scouting their crops quickly and accurately, while also enabling them to remotely monitor diseases and pests and determine trends in the crop. 

The data-driven tool includes an automatic counting function, called the  Trap-Scanner, which is designed to recognizes six pests and insects. Users take an image of a sticky trap using their phone and the app displays the count on the Crop-Scanner reports. 

The application works on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and PCs and is available for iOS and Android.

The platform is being deployed in phases beginning with Belgium, Canada, Kenya, the Netherlands, UK, and United States.
