Van Belle Youngplants, the liner supply business of Van Belle Nursery, is testing newly installed ISO Cutting Planter 2500 robots with the ultimate goal of bringing greater value to growers across North America.

Known for their early adoption of horticultural innovations such as Dutch-style rolling benches and the use of rice hulls in growing media and mulch, Van Belle Youngplants employees have engineered proprietary innovations like FloGo pot-less, plastic-free shipping, and RocketLiner and JetPack propagation trays. The new ISO propagation robots are the latest addition to the fleet and part of the company’s strategy and philosophy towards leveraging cutting-edge innovations to unlock value and grow their business.

“Right now, we are testing the robots and learning how to use them most effectively to improve our product quality and consistency,” says Van Belle Youngplants director of operations, Ieda Del Bianco. “As a company we are hopeful and excited to think about the possibilities within various aspects of young plant production such as output, job satisfaction, profitability, and sustainability.”

“The additional value we hope to deliver to our grower partners in future seasons because of these robots really excites our salespeople,” says Van Belle Youngplants director of sales, Jeff O’Brien. “Quality and efficiency continue to rise across the industry, and we want to make sure we’re giving growers every reason to work with us season after season.”

Van Belle Youngplants is a propagation partner specializing in flowering shrubs, perennials, evergreens, and indoor plants.
