This compact version of the wildly popular hydrangea paniculata shares many traits, including creamy white blooms that change to pink and then to a beautiful strawberry red when night temperatures drop a few degrees.
The foliage is medium green. Growing to about four feet in height, ‘Strawberry Sundae’ is an excellent choice for small garden spaces. It is a wonderful accent or large container plant.
The blooms are perfect in fresh or dried flower arrangements. Ideal in zones 4 to 8, it grows well in full sun to part shade. It grows to four to five feet in height, and a width of three to four feet.
