July 10, 2023 – Vineland has launched their new soil testing and analysis services to growers across Ontario.
The service is “informed by over 10 years of research conducted in a range of managed landscapes,” and aims to provide growers with key information they need to build “soil function that supports plant survival, establishment and growth.”
The analysis service provides clients with a Soil Health Report, which gives them an overview of their soil’s “current and prospective health,” with the goal of assisting them in implementing best practices.
The Soil Health Report provides data and information that “is required to understand soil function with clear characterization of soil physical, chemical, biological and hydrological features and detailed management recommendations to help build and maintain soil health.”
Soil Health Reports are available in three packages – diagnostic, moderate, and comprehensive.
Diagnostic reports look at soil health and identify short-term management goals. The moderate report gives clients all the information from the diagnostic level, plus soil function and assistance in developing strategies for long-term management. The comprehensive package builds on the moderate package by assisting clients to build a soil management approach that maximizes plant performance.
