Garden Centres of America (GCA) recently put its full support behind the Independent Garden Centre (IGC) Show set to debut in Chicago, August 21 to 23, 2007. The IGC show will be the first national trade show targeted specifically to independent garden centres and their vendors. The event will be held at the Navy Pier and open with 500 booths with plans to add more booths as demand grows.

“We have recognized for some time that while the National Hardware Show does a great job in the big box and mass market channels, independent garden centres haven't had a properly timed national event,” says Jeff Morey, publisher of Nursery Retailer. “Filling that void, the IGC Show will showcase products and services targeted specifically to independents at a time that makes sense for their buying schedules.”

As a part their endorsement, the GCA will provide educational program support to the IGC show. In addition GCA members who contract exhibit space will save nearly 20 per cent off the regular industry rate if the space is booked prior to January 1, 2007.
Garden Centres of America is the national trade association representing independent garden centres. GCA has a membership of over 400 garden centres providing services which include educational programs, garden centre tours, retail trends, marketing information and benchmarking measures.
