He has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Guelph (1984) and an MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario.

He started his career in 1984 at Plant Products Co. Ltd. and has fulfilled various business development and management positions since then.

“We are confident that Harold’s relevant experience as well as his strategic and result oriented mentality, will positively contribute to the Grodan organization and our ambition to grow,” said Grodan Group managing director Hub Janssen.

Van Gool is looking forward to this new challenge. “I am very much looking forward to being part of the Grodan team, providing innovative and sustainable substrate solutions to the horticultural industry in North America. The new production facilities in North America, as well as the expertise Grodan holds, will help us contribute directly to the enhancement of the quality and yield of fresh produce in Canada, the United States and Mexico.

"I see it as a challenge to contribute towards strengthening the position of the Grodan Group in these markets.”
