Description: In controlled environment agriculture supplemental lighting is require to support year-long crop production. In this presentation Dr. Neil Mattson from Cornell University and Dr. AJ Both from Rutgers University will talk about the yield and economic impacts of different supplemental lighting systems. During the first part of the presentation we will hear about the relation between the use of supplemental lighting and biomass yield increase. At the second part of the presentation we will learn how to determine the capacity of a supplemental lighting system and how to calculate its implementation and operational costs.
