Greenhouse Canada is hosting a webinar featuring Greenhouse Vegetable Specialist Fadi Al-Daoud, from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). Fadi will be sharing insights from a number of research projects on the effect of light abatement curtains on the greenhouse environment and plant physiology. In this discussion, we will dive into the fundamentals of greenhouse curtains and how growers can adjust their lighting strategies to achieve the optimal greenhouse environment.

About the presenter:

Fadi Al-Daoud
Fadi Al-Daoud, PhD, is the Greenhouse Vegetable Specialist at Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). His portfolio includes vegetables, fruits and cannabis grown in controlled environments. After earning his doctorate from the Department of Biology at McMaster University with a specialization in molecular plant pathology, Fadi worked at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Fredericton, N.B., and in the Department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph in Ontario. He has over 20 years experience conducting applied and fundamental research on horticultural and field crops and communicating his research to the scientific community and agricultural producers. He works in collaboration with growers, researchers and industry partners to advance controlled environment agriculture in Ontario. He can be reached at: fadi.al-daoud@ontario.ca
