Vegetable farm grows luffa for cosmetic use

June 2, 2021  By Qu'anglo Communications and Consulting

For the past six years, La Fibre Végétale, an organic vegetable farm, has been growing luffa gourd as a crop in a greenhouse.

When they ripen, they dry out and produce a fibre that turns into a sponge that can be used to wash both dishes and a person’s body. The demand, especially by organic and zero-waste shops, will soon see production increase from 500 to 1,700 loofahs.

As La Terre de Chez Nous reports, the farm currently cultivates 500 luffa and plans to increase production to 1,700 soon. | READ MORE (in French)
