As Greenhouse Canada launches a new initiative aimed at shining a light on how much good there is in the Canadian greenhouse industry, I thought I would take a moment to underscore an opportunity for our readership and industry partners to point this publication’s spotlight on those who are a positive force in the sector.

We’re just four months into 2025 and it’s been a seriously impactful quarter for the Canadian greenhouse industry.

From the chaos ushered in with the new U.S. administration to what is starting to feel like a lot of elections here at home, Canadians are navigating unprecedented territory.

This industry is particularly vulnerable to the ebbs and flows of geopolitics but it’s no stranger to innovation and adaptation in the face of such challenges. It has the distinct advantage of being support and populated by a large group of dynamic, outspoken, engaged and agile individuals.

That is why, as uncertainty continues to impact the greenhouse sector, we feel it is important to take a moment to emphasize the efforts of the growers and professionals in this industry who are adeptly steering the course.

Greenhouse Canada’s Top 4 Under 40 and Grower of the Year awards are two such opportunities where we would like to highlight the people who, instead of being guided by fear of uncertainty, are a positive force in driving innovation in their roles and across Canada’s horticulture industry.

We must thank the longtime sponsors of our Top 4 Under 40 program, Paul Boers Manufacturing and Prins Greenhouses, who have continued to lend their support to this program that celebrates the ingenuity and promise of the industry’s next generation.

Paul Boers will be on hand to personally hand out awards to our 2025 honourees at the 30th annual Grower Day event on June 17th. The Grower of the Year for 2025 will also be revealed and celebrated at our event and all honourees will be featured in Greenhouse Canada.

It’s great exposure for those we shine a spotlight on, and it’s an opportunity to inspire others looking to find their footing during this period of unpredictability. It is also a platform to showcase the industry’s

We are hoping to hear from you, dear reader, to identify who some of these change makers, leaders and innovators who embody calm in the eye of the storm are.
