Retail garden sales down in February

Apr. 30, 2014, Ottawa — Retail sales at garden equipment and supply dealers dipped in February, according to new data released by Statistics Canada.

Retail sales at building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers experienced a 1.4 per cent decline – the fifth monthly decrease in six months. Of the 11 subsectors measured, this one posted the largest decline for the month of February.

Across all sub sectors of the Canadian market, retail sales rose 0.5 per cent to $41 billion.
