The Cecil Delworth Foundation (CDF) and Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. (FCO) are finalizing plans for their 41st annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise money for floriculture research.

This is an excellent opportunity for growers and industry specialists to join FCO in networking with industry representatives while supporting floriculture research.

In previous years, every dollar of industry support was able to raise $9.80 from government matching programs to support this mission. Some $102,000 of grower seed money grew to $1 million of research and development.

AN EARLY BIRD DRAW

The cost is $200 per player, and if you register and pay before June 1, you will be entered into the Early Bird draw to win an iPad. This cost covers your round of golf and cart rental, as well as lunch and dinner at Peninsula Lakes.

SEEKING SPONSORS

FCO welcomes sponsorship of banners, tees or greens. Advertising opportunities are available to sponsor prizes for awards to be handed out after dinner.

“Each year, CDF and FCO are extremely grateful for support received from industry representation by way of sponsorships and advertisement,” notes Jamie Aalbers, FCO research director and organizing committee member.

PENINSULA LAKES GOLF CLUB

The tournament will be held Wed., June 26, at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club in Fenwick, Ontario. Registration will begin at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Those interested can contact Sarah Brien at the FCO office at 800-698-0113, ext. 221, via e-mail at Sarah@fco.on.ca, or visit www.flowerscanadagrowers.com.
