Waste heat to Chatham greenhouse

Greenfield Global ethanol plant is now sending both its waste carbon dioxide and heat to Truly Green Farms, a greenhouse on the opposite side of Bloomfield Road. Greenfield has been sending the carbon dioxide to the 45-acre greenhouse for a few years now, but the heat transfer just went online in December.

Plant manager Veselin Nikolov said they can generate up to 30 megawatts of heat, and Truly Green will use as much as it needs depending on the season. | READ MORE
