The social-networking wave has hit the gardening industry. Myfolia.com is a website designed to help gardeners track their gardening progress, share their garden and see what others are growing, join groups or find others growing the same plants.

Users can sign up for free and set up their own profile in a way that’s very similar to the popular social-networking site, Facebook. People can post photos of their gardens, take a look at the most popular plants on MyFolia by zone or by country and browse maps to see where else in the world your plant is growing. The website is also a way that gardeners can organize their plots, from cataloging seeds and cuttings to setting reminders for important garden dates and tasks.

Myfolia.com offers users tracking functions like growing journals, a day counter so you can keep your planting on track and even the option to record the weather on journal entries. And like any social-networking site, Myfolia.com’s strength is the community it creates. Users can ask and answer gardening questions, explore any topic, participate in the site’s plant wiki and see what’s sprouting in their friends gardens.
