Greek tomato greenhouse converts to hydroponic strawberry production

The first large-scale hydroponic strawberry greenhouse in Greece is up and running after being converted from tomato production. The nearly five-acre facility, located an hour outside of Athens, is a first for the country as it marks a switch to hydroponic production on an unprecedented scale. Field production of strawberries in Greece in recent years has been severely challenged by persistent pest and heat stress due to climate change. Hortidaily reports.
