Glee, an international trade event held in Birmingham, England, for the
garden, pet and leisure industries, is introducing the industry’s
first-ever Going Green show at the Sept. 16-18, 2007, edition of the
show. The new initiative will make it easier for buyers to pinpoint
environmentally friendly products and suppliers.

Glee will feature hundreds of exhibitors, from global brands to
specialist manufacturers, displaying Glee’s symbolic Going Green logo
on their stands to indicate the presence of a sustainable or
eco-friendly buying opportunity. Details of the participants will be
featured on all of Glee’s listings and the website,
www.gleebirmingham.com, enabling buyers to plan and target their visit
towards greener products that meet this burgeoning market trend.
Seminar sessions on the theme will also take place as part of the Glee
seminar program.

All Glee exhibitors will be informed of the new Going Green initiative
and already, more than 300 companies are thought to be eligible to
participate. Products suitable for Going Green will include: mulch and
other natural resources; biodegradable packaging; organically grown
plants; products made of wood from sustainable sources; organic food
and drink including organic pet food; natural products; eco-friendly
garden care products; wildlife products; water-saving devices; products
made of recycled materials, and much more.

This year’s Glee show is also scheduled to have the largest contingent of North American manufacturers ever.
