The CanAgPlus board of directors has announced its first strategic plan for the CanadaGAP program – an initiative designed to promote food safety and good agricultural practices (GAP).

In a recent news release, the board said it began developing the plan last year in an effort to ‘maintain the mission, vision and values of the program, while focusing efforts and resources’ on several key areas, including: program delivery, office operations, talent management, program content, toolbox and stakeholders.

“With the new strategic plan in place, we are committed to our foundational mission of providing a science-based program that is accepted by the industry, while following a trajectory to become the food safety certification program of choice for fresh produce operations,” said Scott Wright, chair of the board, in the release.
