OGVG celebrates region with launch of ‘Greenhouse Goodness campaign
September 13, 2023 By Greenhouse Canada
Sept. 13, 2023 – The Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) has launched the ‘This is Greenhouse Goodness’ campaign, which is designed to showcase the high concentration of greenhouses, achievements, and innovation of the sector in southwestern Ontario.
The campaign has converted the baggage claim area of Windsor International Airport to resemble a greenhouse farm at Windsor International Airport, where it will remain for the next two years.
“Residents, guests, and dignitaries arriving in Windsor will experience the benefits of Ontario-grown greenhouse produce when entering the region through educational messaging, which promotes the health attributes of greenhouse vegetables and sustainable growing practices our growers adopt,” notes a press released from OGVG.
Windsor-Essex employs over 32,000 people in the agriculture and agri-tech sector. The region is one of the largest greenhouse clusters globally. Each year, farms from the region produce more than 503 million kilograms of greenhouse produce.
