Kubo Greenhouse Projects has confirmed the completion of a new 24 acre sustainably lit greenhouse facility for Windset Farms in Delta, B.C.

In a recent press release, Windset Farms announced the expansion was completed earlier this summer. The facility, totalling 48 acres of their 92 acres, will enable the company to utilize its increased capacity to better serve the local market year-round.

The greenhouse will produce high quality tomatoes and cucumbers year-round for Western Canada, the U.S., and Asian Markets.

The new facility highlights Windset’s goal to provide sustainably grown produce for their target markets.

“Kubo’s expertise and unwavering commitment to sustainable cultivation have allowed this goal to become a reality,” said Steven Newell, CEO of Windset Farms, in the release. We’re proud to have them as key supply partners on this groundbreaking expansion.”

The greenhouse will utilize sustainable methods, including renewable hydroelectric power and biomass boilers, dual climate curtains, ventilation jet fans, reverse osmosis and ozone systems that are used for water recirculation, dimmable LED light fixtures, thermal screens and full light abatement curtains on the roof and side walls will eliminate light pollution.

The first planting of the new greenhouse is scheduled for Spring 2024.
