Well-branched ‘Baja Burgundy’
By Dave Harrison
February 2016 — Sombrero® ‘Baja Burgundy,’ from Darwin Perennials, features exceptional Winter hardiness and excellent branching. This coneflower is hardy in zones 4a to 9b…
Drought resistant, it blooms in late spring, summer and late summer. The sturdy, compact plants are very floriferous in bright, rich colours and are available as tissue culture-raised liners.
Dead-heading will prolong the flowering period. It is naturally well-branched and compact for easy shipping.
It has an excellent retail presentation, commanding a premium price.
‘Baja Burgundy’ is well-matched in habit and timing. Plant Sombrero in the spring and sell it the same year. www.darwinperennials.com
