U OF GUELPH ’06 TRIALS GARDEN REVIEW

January 21, 2008  By Greenhouse Canada

At separate open houses, growers and gardeners agreed on two cultivars among their lists of top picks.

12Commercial growers and home gardeners were in agreement with two cultivars in listing their top picks at last year’s University of Guelph Ornamental Trial Gardens. Both groups placed Cleome Senorita Rosalita and Impatiens Sonic Sweet Purple ’06 on their lists of top performers in the trials.

The trials are now in their sixth year. In addition to the main trial grounds at the Guelph Turfgrass Institute, satellite sites were established at the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Toronto Botanical Garden. Trials manager is U of G greenhouse technican Rodger Tschanz.
