
May 24, 2012, Toronto — A new pop-up garden shop is sprouting in the heart of the city.
On May 26 and 27 and June 2 and 3, the 1090Z Urban Garden Centre will host an outdoor market where local can purchase a plethora of plants, pots, produce, flowers, herbs, vegetables, soil, outdoor furnishings, and more.
Local delivery service will be offered by Country Fresh Market & Garden, making it easier for downtown dwellers to get growing.

The pop-up will also offer free workshops led by experts in a number of areas, including:
- Scott Torrance Landscape Architects Inc. on how to use green roof technology to create vertical gardens and moveable planters
- Advice from gardening expert and author Steven Biggs
- Gardening secrets from Sweetpea's, a Roncesvalles' florist and landscape design shop
- Organic farming workshops from Fresh City Farms
- Raised container gardening workshops from the Backyard Urban Farm Co.
The pop-up garden centre will take place at 109 Ossington Ave. in Toronto. The centre's hours of operation will be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day the shop is open.
