Sources say a special panel set up to look at the minimum wage will recommend it be tied to the inflation rate – and that businesses get four months warning of any increases.

The minimum wage has been set at $10.25 an hour for the last four years.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says both businesses and workers should be pleased to have a more predictable system in place.

A recent study showed the number of minimum wage workers has more than doubled since the Liberals were elected in 2003 to nine per cent of Ontario’s workforce in 2011.
