Sept. 11, 2015, Amsterdam – Vertical farming will be a major focus of GreenTech Amsterdam 2016.
A Vertical Farming Pavilion and adjoining conference will be among next year’s highlights.
The Association for Vertical Farming (AVF) is a quickly growing international non-profit organization that focuses on advancing vertical farming technologies, designs and businesses.
GreenTech focuses on all techniques used for optimal and sustainable growing of crops.
“Urban and vertical farming are the new kids on the block,” says GreenTech manager Mariska Dreschler. “Countries such as Japan, the U.S. and UAE are especially keen on exploring this new production technology.”
According to AVF research, vertical farming uses up to 98 per cent less water when compared to conventional agriculture and produces more food than a conventional agriculture farm on the same land area.
GreenTech will be held June 14-16 June at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.
