April 30, 2018  By Greenhouse Canada

Twinsburg, OH – Horticulture-container manufacturer, The HC Companies recently announced an investment in new manufacturing molding technologies, updating almost 50% of the company’s existing equipment.

With greater energy efficiency, higher performance and better utilization of recycled materials, the new equipment is expected to produce products with greater consistency with quicker delivery times.

It’s also expected to help address rising labour challenges and operating costs, while continuing to meet strict quality demands and ensure customer satisfaction.

“The first wave of new machines are already on the shop floor and they are truly impressive – operating at state-of-the-art levels of production output and efficiency,” says Jim Bennett, President and CEO of The HC Companies.

The upgrade is slated for completion by Fall 2018, ahead of new orders for spring 2019. The remaining equipment will either be replaced or refurbished over the next few years.

“Our efforts are starting to provide positive returns for our customers, which is evident in our improved service levels, quality, order fulfillment and timely delivery,” says Gunderson.

The upgrade is not expected to interrupt current production schedules at their manufacturing facilities.
