March 16, 2015 – This Friday’s e-GRO Alert webinar (1 to 2 p.m. EDT) will look at succulents.

Succulents are hot sellers! Consumers consider them not only decorative, but “vacation-proof” and “sustainable” thanks to their low water requirements.

This hardy perception is also commonly reflected in the production of succulents with many growers producing them “dry and lean.” They’ll certainly grow that way, but it can results in a much longer crop time … which costs growers more money.

The floriculture team at Virginia Tech has quantified just how wet and how rich succulents can tolerate. Presenter Holly Scoggins will outline the research, emphasizing options for growers and also retailers who hold succulents on retail shelves with varying degrees of success.
