Sheridan Nurseries Unionville to close in September

July 11, 2022  By Sheridan Nurseries

After 55 years of serving the gardening public and professional landscape industry, Sheridan Nurseries Garden Centre and Landscape Supply Centre in Unionville will close on September 5, 2022.

When it first opened in 1967, the location was surrounded by farmland, with no residential or commercial development in the area. Today, the site is part of the bustling Markham Town Centre – a high-density residential and commercial area that continues to experience tremendous growth. As a result of this urban growth, Sheridan Nurseries sold the land that the garden centre occupies in 2014 and has leased the space since.

“We also extend our thanks to our guests,” said Scott Baillie, the Unionville Garden Centre Manager and a Sheridan Values Ambassador with 39 years of service. “Thank you to our retail guests for including us in their gardening experience, sharing their passion, learning with us, and trusting Sheridan products to enhance their homes, inside and out. To our Landscape trade guests, we thank them for choosing and depending on us to deliver the products they need to bring their jobs to life.”

On Thursday, July 7, the Unionville location will launch a store-wide clearance sale where guests can save on the high-quality plant, garden supply, patio furniture and home décor for which Sheridan Nurseries is known.

While one location is closing, Sheridan Nurseries is working on a new Garden Centre that will open in Aurora in the Spring of 2023.
