PPA Symposium heading to Vancouver

Apr. 9, 2013, Vancouver — This summer, retail garden centre owners and employees, landscape professionals, growers and other green industry professionals will gather for the Perennial Plant Association Symposium in Vancouver.

The week-long symposium kicks off on July 21 with a one-day seminar that will be open to the public. On the following day, optional tours will give delegates an opportunity to network while exploring gardens or green buildings and experiencing the beauty of British Columbia.

On July 23, the lecture and trade show schedule gets underway with seminars looking at what changing demographics mean for the green industry, the benefits of having a designated education department in store, marketing strategies for retailers, and reinventing and evolving the industry.

Delegates can chose to visit green industry professionals in B.C.'s Fraser Valley on July 24. Participants will get to know retailers, growers and landscapers in the area and learn more about successful operations in the valley.

The lecture and trade show schedule wraps up on July 25 with seminars examining the future of retail, new plant introductions and strategies to re-brand gardening for the changing consumer, among others.

Optional tours will also be offered on July 26 and 27, giving delegates additional opportunities to explore B.C.

THe 31st Perennial Plant Symposium will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall CEntre in downtown Vancouver.
