Pellets cheaper than natural gas starting 2016, says report

June 8, 2012  By Treena Hein

Some reports predict the price of wood pellets will be lower than natural gas (per unit of energy) over the long-term.

A May 31st report by Maine-based FutureMetrics is entitled “An Analysis of the Future of Natural Gas Prices and Wood Pellet Prices: Natural gas will become much more costly than wood pellets.”

FutureMetrics is a ‘bioenergy’ consultancy firm.

See entire report below – particularly the chart on page 12 which predicts natural gas prices will cost more than pellets (per unit of energy) starting in 2016.
