Nutrien recognized for leadership in advancing sustainable agriculture practices

BASF Canada has announced the winners of its first Customer Sustainability Awards Programme, which recognizes Canadian businesses demonstrating leadership in building a sustainable future in the automotive, agriculture, personal care sectors, and others.

Three winners have been selected for their innovation capabilities and integration of sustainability goals into their business strategies: Nutrien, global provider of crop inputs; OpenRoad Richmond Auto Body, a collision repair services provider; and Sogefi, a leader in the design and manufacture filtration systems and flexible suspension components.

“We are happy to recognize Nutrien in the first edition of our Customer Sustainability Awards Programme for their continued leadership in advancing sustainable agricultural practices,” says Amita Sandhu, head of sustainability and government relations, BASF Canada. “Through the integration of their business objectives and sustainability strategy, combined with their clear support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Nutrien continues to demonstrate a meaningful commitment to sustainability. This type of leadership is not only incredibly important; it is vital for the continued advancement and modernization of Canadian agriculture and we’re proud to be partners with them.”

The companies were awarded in a virtual ceremony.

An independent third-party assessed participants’ sustainability performance based on the following criteria:

  • Sustainability strategy
  • Sustainability governance
  • Sustainability achievements
  • Alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Sustainability innovation
