Nursery stock looking strong this year

January 7, 2014  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Jan. 7, 2014, Toronto — Despite the lingering effects of the global recession, Ontario garden enthusiasts can expect a varied selection of nursery stock at their local garden centre this spring.

Exhibitors at Landscape Ontario’s Congress trade show and conference are predicting great selection, value and on-time delivery for local retailers, designers and contractors, which means lots of choice and options for homeowners and gardeners when the weather warms and the garden beckons.

“We are coming off a fantastic growing season and are looking forward to some outstanding plants in 2014,” says Harry Brouwer, from Maple Leaf Nurseries in Vineland, Ont. “Our yews and boxwoods have done exceptionally well. At Congress, you will see a dynamic and interesting selection, with lots of shrubs, evergreens and unique perennials that will satisfy and excite plant lovers.”

Brouwer adds that besides a carefully designed booth display, Congress offers the unequaled opportunity to meet face-to-face, share ideas and network to discuss new ideas and products that will make 2014 a successful year.

“Congress is the perfect place to track new trends, see diverse product lines and discover new suppliers that will helpbring innovative ideas to a more and more discerning consumer."

The Congress Green Industry Conference is a highly anticipated landscape industry education and networking experience. A dynamic speaker lineup composed of industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs offer an interesting variety of practical sessions, owner only workshops and popular Lunch’n’Learns, offering an opportunity to be inspired, learn about emerging industry trends and build new relationships.
