Gearing up for the launch of legal, recreational cannabis, the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) has recently entered into two agreements with licensed producers Aphria and Organigram for the supply of cannabis and cannabis-derived products.

Based out of Leamington, ON, Aphria’s agreement with the NSLC will start October 17, 2018. The licensed producer focuses on greenhouse production of cannabis, and has supply agreements in place in a number of other Canadian provinces and territories, including British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and the Yukon. Aphria intends to produce 255,000 kg per annum by early 2019.

Moncton-based Organigram focuses on indoor-grown cannabis. The licensed producer currently has five other supply agreements in place, including Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
