Vineland hosting major poinsettia open house

Nov. 17, 2014, Vineland Station, Ont. — Some 125 varieties, including over 30 numbered selections, will be featured at this year’s Poinsettia Cultivar Open House at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre.

Participating breeders include Dummen USA, Paul Ecke Ranch, Beekenkamp Plants, Ball/Selecta First Class, and Syngenta Flowers.

The open house will also feature:

• A reduced molybdenum study, sponsored by Flowers Canada Ontario.

• A swirskii/Nutrimite trial for silverleaf whitefly, sponsored by Biobest.

The open house will be held from 1 to 4:30 on Dec. 4.

The trials are hosted by Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, the University of Guelph, and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
