Three-day course on aquaponics in February

Jan. 12, 2016, Whitby, Ont. — Want to learn more about aquaponics?

Noa Fisheries is hosting a three-day course at its new and expanded farm near here.

The course will be held Feb. 16-18.

Topics will include system design, water quality, food safety, plant production, tilapia breeding, greenhouse heating and lighting, and fish health, among others.

Many of North America’s leading aquaponics specialists will be sharing the podium, including Dr. Nick Savidov and John Derksen from Lethbridge College; Steve Naylor (aquaculture specialist) and Cara McCreary (greenhouse vegetable IPM specialist) from OMAFRA; Dr. Jason Danaher from Pentair Aquatic Eco-Systems; Fred Rutman, a professor of marketing and finance; and social media specialist Sarah Zeldman.
