April 30, 2013 — It has been almost a year since the greenhouse community and FormFlex Canada has lost an industry leader.
Kees Hensen, a.k.a. The Gutter Pioneer of Canada, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on May, 3 2012. Kees is fondly remembered by many family, friends and colleagues.
His two sons, Grant and Blair, have chosen to carry on his work at FormFlex.
Last September, the Hensen family organized a golf tournament to raise awareness and funds to help research early detection of this disease which has a mere three per cent survival rate over five years.

Most of those diagnosed with this deadly cancer don’t even survive the first year.
“With the help of many industry sponsors, family and friends and the 130 golfers,” said Blair, “the event raised $15,000. Our family would like to thank all of the sponsors who made this event possible. Without them, the golf tournament would not have been as successful as it was.”

Tax receipts are available, and 100 per cent of proceeds will go to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
