Pure Sunfarms gets the nod to expand

July 2, 2018  By Greenhouse Canada

Pure Sunfarms recently received permission from Health Canada to expand their cannabis production to 225,000 sq. ft.

Located in Delta, BC, their Delta 3 greenhouse is already expecting to harvest 130,000 sq. ft. in August, a result of their existing production that began in May of this year. For their newly-licenced area, planting will start now and continue until the end of July.

Slated to become one of the largest cannabis-growing facilities globally, the Delta 3 facility is expected to convert all 1.1 million square feet to cannabis production by the end of this year. The facility has 17 grow rooms planned to produce over 85 harvests per year. Automation will play a large part in several areas of the operation, including harvesting, trimming, drying and packaging.
