2006 finds a new player in the world of licensing and enforcement of plant patents.  COPF, a highly successful and effective plant management program
running for the past 41 years in Canada, has incorporated a non-profit organization in the U.S. called Plant Watch™.  Plant Watch will build on COPF’s history of facilitating relationships between growers and breeders from Europe, Asia and North America.
Darwin Plants have been granted a Royal Warrant as nurserymen to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. This is given in recognition of Darwin Plants having been chosen to supply plants directly to the Royal Household for the past five years.  Darwin Plants are the only Dutch company to currently hold a Royal Warrant from the U.K. Royal Household.

Fertilizer producer Agrium Inc. has made an unsolicited $325-million cash takeover bid for major U.S. agricultural product distributor Royster-Clark Ltd.
President Danny Temkin began the company in a small corner of Los Angeles' Fresh Flower Market in 1980 when he started taking orders to replace cellophane with polypropylene.
