New marketing director at FCO

Jan. 29, 2013, Vineland, Ont. — Nikki Gomes is the new marketing director with Flowers Canada Ontario.

Jan. 29, 2013, Vineland, Ont. — Nikki Gomes is the new marketing director with Flowers Canada Ontario.

Gomes brings 16 years of progressive sales and marketing experience to the position including working in key account management, market development, event project management and communications strategy and planning.
 
Most recently, she worked with Research in Motion (RIM), ad before that, Open Text Corporation in Waterloo, Ontario.
 
"Nikki brings a fresh new approach as well as internet and social marketing skills to our branding.  Her experience and knowledge of marketing will help us meet our mandate of delivering long term value to our members," said Dean Shoemaker, FCO's executive director.

Marketing committee chair Ted Oorsprong added that "Nikki is an exceptionally organized marketing leader who brings a combination of vision and creativity, along with the ability to execute a well-planned marketing strategy that will serve the floriculture industry well."

Gomes will be responsible for the development of an overall organizational marketing strategy including the management of all of the new and existing marketing programs, including pickOntario and Canada Brand, as well the enhancement of FCO's social marketing initiatives.
 
"FCO is an important player in Ontario's floriculture industry and I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the FCO team,” said Gomes.

“I am looking forward to working on behalf of FCO's members to develop new and innovative resources and strategies to expand Ontario's floriculture's market share in North America.”
