Featured are beautiful floral images, warm colours and a clean, uncluttered design. Visitors can navigate quickly to their specific area of interest – Grower Member, Consumer & Retailer, and Resources and Media. An online growers' directory, providing current information on FCG growers and industry suppliers, wholesalers and exporters, has been posted.

Social networking communications, including both Facebook and Twitter, have been added.

"It was time to take our website to a new level," said FCG's marketing chairperson Ted Oorsprong. "It was specifically designed with FCG’s mandate in mind, to enhance the profitability and competitiveness of the Canadian floriculture industry."

Future enhancements will include the use of QR codes on plant care tags, providing a direct consumer link to the grower and their product. "The ability to know in an instant your purchase was locally grown and how to take care of it provides value to both consumers and growers," said FCG executive director Dean Shoemaker.

Funding for the upgraded website was provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through its Agri-Marketing Program.
