MedReleaf acquires Exeter greenhouse

Last week, Toronto-based MedReleaf Corp. closed a $26-million cash-and-shares deal to buy a one-million sq. ft. greenhouse and 66 hectares neighbouring west of Exeter on Airport Line.

The greenhouse and land had been previously owned by VeriFine, which has other facilities around Exeter. The company’s operations on Thames Road West in Exeter are not included in the deal.

MedReleaf’s new Exeter facility is expected to produce 105,000 kilograms of cannabis each year. Vice-president of strategy Darren Karasiuk says the Canadian marijuana market demand will increase to 1,000 tonnes annually. | READ MORE
