JEMD Farms among Canada’s 50 Best Managed firms

Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for 2012.

Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for 2012.

This prestigious national award is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business, and MacKay CEO Forums.

“Today’s marketplace is not just about the investment in the product or service, it is also about the investment in the people,” said John Hughes, awards program leader from Deloitte. “JemD Farms invests in their team to build a strong and sustainable company.”

JemD Farms is the first Canadian/Mexican owned greenhouse company in North America to be able to offer consumers year-round quality produce.

A strategy of vertical integration allows it to implement full traceability systems, and has made them a leader within the Produce Traceability Initiative.

NATIONAL AWARDS PROGRAM

Established in 1993, the Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies is a national awards program, recognizing companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways.

Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.
