Home and Garden show gearing up for spring

December 11, 2012  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Dec. 11, 2012, Toronto — The International Home and Garden Show is already gearing up in anticipation of the sunshine and re-birth of nature that spring brings.

The annual show, now in its 25th year, runs Feb. 21 to 24, 2013 at the International Centre in Toronto. More than 400 industry professionals will set up on six acres, showcasing the newest developments in agriculture, horticulture, indoor and outdoor décor, design ideas, heating and cooling systems and state of the art eco-friendly products and accessories.

“The warmth of spring is typically what most Canadians look forward to after three long months of dreary weather,” said Paul Newdick, show manager. “Springtime offers new life, and that’s what we aim to do, present to our patrons information so that they too can enter the new season feeling revitalized, renewed and up to date with the latest trends.”

The 2013 International Home and Garden Show and Successful Gardening Show will also feature more than 50 seminars presented in three separate theatres, including: Celebrity Garden Theatre; Helping You Grow Theatre; and Celebrity Superhouse Theatre. This year’s celebrity roster includes Arthur Skolnik, John Reeves, Frank Ferragine, Marjorie Mason, Jeff Mason, Denis Flanagan, Albert Graves, Kate Seaver, Karl Lohnes, Lynn Spence and Mary Dobson.

Additional celebrity announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

“Spawning new ideas that will bring to life each individual’s unique creativity and personal touch is what this show is about. Allowing the imagination to surface in all of us,” Newdick added.

All visitors will have access to the Annual Ontario Horticulture Association’s Floral Design and Plant Competition – Canada’s largest showcase where seasoned gardeners from across the province compete for top honours.

Admission is $15 for adults, and $12 for seniors and children over the age of eight; children under eight get in free.
