Gear up for Landscape Ontario’s Congress

October 8, 2014  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Oct. 8, 2014, Toronto – Mark your calendars! Landscape Ontario's Congress is set for Jan. 6 to 8, 2015.

Congress offers eight acres of trade show space with more than 600 multinational vendors, all under one roof; offering the ideal purchasing environment for design-build, fence, landscape and pool contractors looking to see the latest technologies, equipment, tools and products on the market.

The co-location of Congress with the Canadian Fence Industry Association’s Fencecraft and Landscape Ontario’s multiple partnerships in the Green Infrastructure Pavilion, a show-within-a-show, offers a glimpse into allied industry’s products and creates multiple business opportunities from new and untapped markets.

Skilled trades are the backbone of the landscaping industry. Attracting new workers is top of mind with business owners looking to prevent a skilled trade shortage in the future. Responding to this, Landscape Ontario has partnered with many universities and colleges to present its revitalized Education Hub. The new feature area will consist of a massive 3,000 sq. ft. garden that demonstrates the creativity, collaboration and integration of talent from the professors, students and suppliers responsible for the design, construction and dismantling of the garden during the show. Business owners looking to identify and connect with young skilled workers will find them here.

Landscape Ontario’s four-day conference program begins on Warm-Up Monday on Jan. 5, 2015, (pre-trade show), with industry-specific seminars on integrated pest management (IPM) and landscape design, hosted by the organization's sector groups.

The 2015 edition of Landscape Ontario will also see the launch of a Peer to Peer workshop, and the Cultivate and Connect (formerly known as Connecting Educators) programs, both on Monday.

The full conference, running Jan. 6-8, 2015, will offer new concepts, ideas and valuable insight from leading industry experts. The program is full of great options for employees and business owners wanting to stay a step ahead. The schedule also includes crowd-pleasing social events, such as The Awards of Excellence Ceremony (presented by Draglam Salt and Earthco Soil Mixtures and supporting sponsor Connon Nurseries CBV Holdings), and the annual Tailgate Party, sponsored by Landscape Ontario’s Hardscape Committee.

On Jan. 8, the show will also offer a reformatted Irrigation Conference that now includes lunch and more time for delegates to learn about new products and technologies in water conservation.

The 2015 edition of Congress will be held at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto. For more information, visit www.locongress.com.
