Deadlines: Canadian Agricultural Partnership

Applications for the Canadian Agricultural Partnership officially opened on April 1^st, but calls for the first round of applications will end soon in some provinces.

Programs offered through the partnership are made available to agricultural producers and processors as a way to grow the sector over the next five years. Eligible projects will encourage the adoption of agricultural innovation, encourage economic growth, improve food traceability, ensure environmental stewardship and more.

Delivered by provinces and territories

$2 billion was committed by the federal government towards cost-share programs delivered by individual provinces and territories, splitting costs 60:40.

Eligible project costs covered will depend on the province and specific programs offered; some can be as high as 50% or $100,000 of the project costs.

Note that deadlines, programs and eligibility requirements will differ by province/territory, and not all programs will accept applications in each round. Interested agricultural businesses should check which ones they’re eligible for.

Alberta

Earliest applications are due May 1^st for eligible projects under the ‘Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change (Group)’ program. Details here

Ontario

Applications for the first round are due May 8^th at precisely 5pm EST. A wide number of programs are accepting applications, including plant pest monitoring and tools, nutrient recovery from wastewater, traceability equipment, technology to improve labour productivity, marketing domestically or internationally, new product development and more. This is administered by the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. Details here

New Brunswick

For Business Risk Management programs, the AgriInsurance deadline is May 1^s while the next AgriStability deadline is April 30^th. For non-business risk management programs, intake is done on an ongoing basis. More details here

Quebec

MAPAQ will announce its cost-share programs soon. Check their site for details.

Manitoba

The Manitoba funding program has been consolidated into one: ‘Ag Action Manitoba’. Check their site for application forms and program guides when available.

Saskatchewan

Some information is up for select projects. More information under other streams will be available here

Other

Information for other provinces and territories will be added here when available.

Federal programs
The federal government also committed $1 billion to six federal programs launched earlier this year: AgriMarketing, AgriCompetitiveness, AgriScience, AgriInnovate, AgriDiversity and AgriAssurance. Details available here

In addition, BRM programs will continue to be available, with some changes for the 2018 year.
