Jan. 24, 2013, Otterburne, Man. — There are plans to rebuild after a big greenhouse business south of Winnipeg was hit by fire.

The damage estimate is between four million and six million dollars after flames tore through part of the facility near Otterburne early yesterday morning.

The greenhouse employed 15 people and housed Manitoba’s largest indoor crop of cucumbers.

Owner Trevor Schreimer was treated for smoke inhalation after he went into the burning building to turn off the boiler and gas supply.

A fire official believes the blaze started near the loading dock, but the cause is still under investigation.
