Farm entrepreneur nominees sought in Niagara

Ont. – An Agriculture Enterprise category will debut with this year’s
Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This award acknowledges
outstanding entrepreneurial achievement within the agricultural sector.

Aug. 12, 2008, Niagara Region, Ont. – An Agriculture Enterprise category will debut with this year’s Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This award acknowledges outstanding entrepreneurial achievement within the agricultural sector.
Nominations will close Aug. 31, 2008.
The award recipients will be announced in March 2009.
The agriculture award is open to established producers within the Niagara Region, including farmers, ranchers, greenhouse and grape growers, as well as producers of raw commodities such as crops, beef, hogs, poultry, dairy, or fruits, vegetables, and alternative livestock. The nominated farming operation must be at least three years old as of Jan. 1, 2008.
Other awards will be presented in the following categories:
• Innovative small business.

• Established enterprise.
• Technological innovation.
• International trade.
• Tourism enterprise.
• Family enterprise.
• Emerging entrepreneur.
The Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards program was established in 1994 to recognize the achievements, excellence and innovation of Niagara’s entrepreneurs.
